Do you have an old iPad or tablet lying around that you don’t use anymore? Maybe Santa is bringing you a new one for Christmas? Please consider donating your old device to help an isolated senior, right here in Drayton Valley and surrounding area.

 

We are collecting new or used iPads and tablets in good condition for isolated seniors who cannot afford to buy their own devices. Currently, we have over 15 seniors on a waiting list for a device. Many of these seniors are under strict lockdown in an assisted living situation, and do not have access to their families and friends at this time. Some live at home, with only limited access to a caregiver or home support worker. COVID-19 has made their situation worse, and the upcoming winter season will be very lonely without our help. Resources and training are provided for caregivers or health care support workers through our Digital Skills program, and the seniors will be assisted to connect with family, friends and online services safely.

 

All data will be wiped from devices, and thoroughly sanitized prior to assigning to an eligible senior. Your donation is eligible for a charitable donation receipt, based on the fair market value of the device, and you will be recognized on our facebook page and website as a donor - or you can choose to remain anonymous.

 

If you do not have a device, but still want to help, monetary donations are also welcome towards the purchase of a device and you will receive a charitable receipt for the full value of your contribution. Cash, credit card and e-transfer methods are available, as well as through PayPal.
